The Choice Is Yours

In the story of Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carrol wrote, "Alice came to a fork in the road. 'Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire Cat. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."
According to the Harvard Business Review, we are faced with more than 30,000 choices every day! Some carry more significance than others, but all point us in a direction and, if we are aware, can teach us something in real time or in reflection.
From the minute we wake up, our choices begin to compound. With that, actions compound as well. When those actions happen, how are we valuing them? Are we looking back with regret? Or are we aware enough in the moment to learn as we go and keep making decisions that reflect the goals we are working to achieve – stacking lessons learned along the way?
On the other hand, choices can be preceded by fear – which, as with Alice, can lead to uncertainty. It is there when progress stops. It is there when complacency steps in and there that growth becomes stagnant.
In our growth journey, it is best to focus on being aware in the moments of choice, in minutes of decision, and not be afraid to make the choice. Don't get caught up in CHASING the choices missed; instead, focus on MAKING the choices in the moment that matter most NOW.
So choose with intention. Choose with awareness. And choose with a focus on personal growth. MAKE your choices. Don't CHASE your choices!
How are you winning?
