Two Rights and a Left

Let's start here. I am directionally challenged. I own it. I live by a GPS no matter where I go and even then, it comes with challenges. I still find myself turned around, missing a parking lot by one turn, or just finding a way to get to the destination the "long way."
This week, while I was in a new city for work, I was reminded (by others) how I could have just taken two rights, a left, and it would have been a straight shot to where we needed to be. We all laughed (I am self-aware), but that night it got me thinking about life.
As we navigate our own journey, aren't we all directionally challenged at times? Don't we get distracted by the "squirrel" or the turkeys that cross the road when least expected?
As I always say, life happens to us and forces us to change directions without a plan. There is no GPS to life. There is no one straight road to get us to the next chapter or next success, or even to solve the next challenge. We are all left to navigate our own path. Some with the assistance of others, and some by taking a chance, absorbing the risk, and staying open to learning what comes next.
Two rights and a left: It seems simple and maybe that is the path that works for some. But for others? For me?
I choose in this game of life to stay open to the pivot – realizing life is unscripted, and I choose to learn along the way. Realizing the shortest way may not always be the best way.The road untraveled can be scary, can cause us to get turned around. But staying disciplined in our search to be the best version of US will come from learning from the rights, lefts, and U-turns we all will face. As long as we keep moving forward with intent, we will grow. Which at the end of the day is most important.
How are you winning?
