Why the Wait?

Last week, I wrote about DAY ONE and the importance of not waiting for "one day." The response I received was tremendous.
I asked myself: Why was that? I have written posts for more than 130 straight weeks, but the comments made by many saying it resonated so strongly gave me pause.
Then this week, I came upon the above mural painted on a wall and had to stop; it came full circle and hit me! Time is a commodity. It is one that as we are living in it we can take for granted. We can all look in the mirror and see changes or choices that need to be made or that we want to make either personally, professionally, or both.
What causes us to hold back from not making that change or choice? FEAR. It is fear that we allow to seep in and make us question the change or choice we want to make for fear of the unknown.
Fear engages time either as an enactor or a reactor. Simply put, choosing fear over courage can speed up time and make you look back and leave you wondering what if? Choosing to be courageous when faced with a choice on the other hand can slow down time and allow you to evaluate and reflect as you progress.
We all look in the mirror at times and contemplate the next turn in life. The lesson is to not let fear make the choice for you! No matter the choice ahead of you and how impactful to yourself it may be, choose the courage to say "today is the day." Fear will push procrastination; courage is the NOW and today is the day. Choose courage over fear and you choose YOU and your path to growth – no matter what that looks like to YOU.
How are you winning?
